Having started my Acupuncture career in a dedicated Acupuncture fertility clinic I know how stressful and complex getting pregnant can be. Whether you have just started out on your fertility journey or are currently going through IVF or similar treatments I’m sure we can help boost your success. At Binks Doncaster Acupuncture Clinic we have been working with IVF clinics such as CARE fertility and other local hospitals such as Jessops Sheffield since 2001, and although the treatments have changed over the years our philosophy hasn’t. We want to create the best possible protocol to achieve your pregnancy, through offering a dedicated fertility plan.
Acupuncture for Fertility
Acupuncture helps your fertility by:
- Regulating the menstrual cycle
- Helping to counteract stress levels
- Improving blood circulation to the pelvic organs, including the ovaries and uterus
- Helping to support ovulation dysfunction in some women
- Helping to improve sperm health.
Fertility Treatments
Acupuncture has been used alongside assisted fertility for a number of years. Acupuncture is a safe adjunctive therapy for women undergoing IVF, ICSI and IUI as there are no adverse effects from treatment. It can also help with an overall feeling of relaxation and well-being throughout the process.
We can offer you support and advice on the right physical, nutritional and emotional support, before and during the treatment which can help off-set these stresses.
At the clinic we carry out specific protocols for treatment which are based upon research and aim to support you at every step of the way. A plan will be devised at the initial Fertility Consultation looking at your unique situation. This includes specific sessions prior to commencing IVF, during IVF, pre and post embryo transfer.
Poly cystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and Endometriosis
PCOS and endometriosis are common causes of female infertility, particularly those with irregular, infrequent or painful periods. Acupuncture can help to reduce some of the factors like reduce testosterone and LH levels and help to promote more frequent ovulation and better quality eggs and lining.
